Bicyclist Discounts All Week Long!

PATH is excited about a new initiative that it hopes will continue on beyond Green Commute Week.  PATH and its partners are working with local businesses to offer discounts or add-ons for customers in a program modeled after HER Helmet Thursdays in Monterey County, California.  We’re excited to report that the following restaurants will be offering free and discounted items during Green Commute Week.

Einstein Brothers Bagels

  • Free small coffee with any purchase during the week of May 17-21 to any customers who bicycle to the shop.

In A Pinch Café and Bakery

  • Free small coffee with any purchase during the week of May 17-21 to any customers who bicycle to the shop.

Brown Bag Deli

  • Free small coffee with purchase of breakfast or lunch sandwich during the week of May 17-22 to any customers who bicycle to the shop.

Eastern Mountain Sports

  • $15 off purchase of $50 or more

Cafenio

  • Free small coffee with purchase of breakfast sandwich, lunch sandwich or soup during the week of May 17-21 to any customers who bicycle to the shop.

Goodale's Bike Shop

  • 10% off any accessories in the store during the week of May 17-21 to any customers who bicycle to the shop.

Madeleines

  • 10% off any food or beverage item in the shop during the week of May 17-21 to any customers who bicycle to the shop.

S&W Sports

  • Spend $100 or more on anything in the store and get $25 off to any customer during the week of May 17-21.

Dos Amigos Burritos

  • Free small fountain beverage with purchase of a burrito during the week of May 17-21 to anyone who bikes, walks, carpools and uses public transportation.

How does it work?  For each hotel, entertainment/educational attraction or restaurant a bicyclist would go to the participating venue, mention the promotion to staff and show his/her helmet.  Showing the helmet will then allow the person to get a discount or add-on determined by the participating vendors and businesses.

Our goal is to have the promotion run each day from May 17-21 and then each Thursday until the end of Commute Green 2010 (June 25).  If successful, we will try to extend the promotion to every Thursday during the year and open it to Concord Area Transit and trolley users, carpoolers and walkers.

Promotions and Prizes

The Commute Green 2010 prize that has everyone excited is the free overnight stay at the Omni Mount Washington Resort.  To be eligible, a person needs to bike, walk, carpool or use public transportation for at least six trips between May 15 and June 25 and log his or her trips at the Bike-Walk Alliance of NH website.  The trip log will go live on the BWANH website on May 15.

Some great local restaurants, bike shops and stores in the Central New Hampshire region are helping make changing commuting methods easier with some great prizes for motivation.  To be eligible for the prizes, a person should either check in at the downtown Concord events PATH is organizing or participate in his or her employer’s event.

The prizes include:

Boloco gift certificates

Nonni’s Italian Eatery gift certificate

Stonyfield Farm gift basket

S&W Sports and Goodale’s Bike Shop gift certificates

Green Concord gift certificates
