If you worry about being stuck without transportation when you're carpooling or using alternative means to get to work, PATH offers an Emergency Ride Home to help ensure access to transportation in case of an emergency. 

In order to be eligible for this benefit, you must become a PATH member. To sign up click here.

Rules of the Program:

• This service may not be used for personal errands or non-emergencies
• You must have carpooled, biked, or taken transit to work on the day of the emergency
• Your ride must originate from your home or business location
• You must be employed full-time or permanent part-time
• You must be registered with PATH
• You get to work one of the following ways at least twice a week:
• carpool (including riding with your spouse)
• vanpool
• bicycle
• transit
• You may use this service no more than three times per calendar year and no more than twice a month
• The discounted rates through Enterprise (see below) may be used for personal use at any time, but PATH will only reimburse for an emergency under the rules of the program

How to get an Emergency Ride Home

If your commute distance is LESS than 20 miles one-way:
(or if you do not have a valid driver's license) 
Call a local taxi company to arrange a ride home.
Ask the taxi operator about payment: Many taxis will take a personal check, others take credit cards, and some only take cash. Be sure to save a receipt!

For reimbursement up to $35, mail your receipt and your contact information to:

If your commute distance is GREATER than 20 miles one-way:

PATH will reimburse the cost of transportation up to $34.99. PATH can reimburse the full cost of a rental car using Enterprise (see below), however you may use any transportation provider you choose. Be sure to get a receipt! For reimbursement mail receipt and contact information to:

PATH members receive discounts at Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Enterprise has agreed to offer PATH members discounted rates regardless of whether the rental service is used for an emergency ride home. When you rent a car, simply tell them you are from PATH or give them the account number 10DM022.

PATH will only reimburse the cost of a rental if it is used for an Emergency Ride Home according to the rules of our program (see rules above), and will only reimburse up to 34.99 which is the cost of a compact car for one day.

When you rent a car:

• You are responsible for any liabilities, gas, insurance, etc.
• You may upgrade the vehicle if you want, but PATH will only reimburse up to 34.99
• You are free to use the Enterprise discount for personal use, but PATH will only reimburse for an emergency ride home according to the rules of our program (see above)

. Note: The Enterprise office in Concord closes at 6:00pm, so try to schedule arrangements before then.
