Regional transportation providers, human service agencies, planning commissions, and other stakeholders are forming Regional Coordinating Councils (RCCs) to develop a coordinated transportation system throughout New Hampshire under the guidance of the State Coordinating Council. CNHRPC is currently working with Lakes Region Planning Commission (LRPC) to update the Belknap-Merrimack County Regional Coordinated Transit Plan, which will identify potential RCC members and outline a strategy for RCC formation.
The RCC will build relationships between transportation providers, agencies, volunteer groups, funcers, and others to develop a more streamlined system to provide transportation to seniors and residents with special needs. The RCC will also identify a Regional Transportation Coordinator (RTC) that will act as a transportation "broker". The RTC will arrange rides through a coordinated network of providers so as to minimize duplication and maximize efficiency while serving the community.
